MIKEL ARRAIZ
I started my own churrería business, but it failed, so I decided to pursue a career in the film industry. As a child, my first exposure to movies was the soap opera Cristal, which I was hooked on all summer. Then I watched Windowlicker by Chris Cunningham, works by Lynch, Nicolas Winding, and Paul Thomas Anderson, and listened to Brian Warner, Die Antwoord, Lindemann, and many others.
Currently, I’m working on my first feature film, an adaptation of my latest short film, Heleno, which was nominated for the Goya Awards at its 38th edition.
My favorite color is purple, and my favorite places are Palm Springs and Joshua Tree.
I am a screenwriter and director.
I usually direct both sitting and standing, depending on how tired I am.
